  1. I’m most excited about the Preserving by the Pint book. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and as a city dweller I like that the book emphasizes canning in small spaces. Thanking you all for the contest and wishing myself good luck!

  2. I can’t wait to get “Preserving the Pint” by Marisa McClellan! I have been looking for recipes for a small-batch garden that I can use for our tiny family farm!

  3. I am most excited for the Preserving by the Pint book. I already can some things but being able to can smaller batches would make it easier to use the things I don’t have loads of.

  4. I am most excited about the local harvest gift card! I’ve never heard of that service and I am excited to check out all of the farms in my area!

  5. I think I’m most excited to read Preserving by the Pint. We’re moving to an apartment with a tiny kitchen and almost no outdoor space, so it would be a beneficial read, for sure.

  6. I’m hoping to do a lot of preserving out of my garden this year, so Preserving by the Pint would be great to read! I really liked her first book, Food in Jars.

  7. I am in to anything about honey production. In the near future, we plan to have some bee hives for our own use and later to sell the extra.

  8. Eating local is important to me, not only to support our local farmers and markets, but also to grow a sustainable future.

Out of all the (AMAZING) prizes, I’d be most excited for ‘Keeping Bees’ book by Ashley English. It’s hard to choose though… so many goodies!

  9. I think it is important to work towards eating and living locally because our neighbors and neighborhood could benefit from the extra attention, while corporate food not only doesn’t need us, they don’t appreciate us anyway!
Also really excited for the preserving by the pint book! Last year blackberry jam, this year the world!

  10. I’m most excited about the gift certificate. We just moved and I’m excited to find local foods for us to eat because eating local not only helps the environment but I know where my food is coming from. I can’t believe how our government is talking about shipping our food to China for processing and then shipping it back to us. The financial cost is huge but the health costs are even greater. Plus, studies show it’s historically healthier and more natural to eat the foods that are available to us locally.

  11. I am excited for the gift certificate and the books. I love buying local food for the taste and freshness, and I like to read and learn all about homesteading.

  12. It’s a tie between the “Locally Grown” tshirt and the book on soil, because new shirts are so fun, and I really want to learn more about composting.

  13. I am most excited about Preserving by the Pint book. Love canning and preserving food focused on what is do-able in small batches in the city

  14. I’m excited about aaall of it, because I’m new to to this. I’m most excited about preserving by the pint, because I’ve always wanted to learn to can and preserve. Also excited for more books. I love books!

  15. I am very excited about the feeding your soil book, we are in our second year of keeping a large garden and I am sure the information in that book could help me be more successful. Alal

  16. I am most excited a bough the home dairy. We just bought a couple of milking devons that will freshen in. Sept!

  17. Are you kidding? Pick just one? I’m excited about ALL the prizes! I was reading your recap of your first year and realized that even though there are trials and tribulations and ever-constant learning, at the end of the day it is all WORTH IT! I’m getting a lot older, but this is how I want to end my days. I’ve wanted to live a country life since I was a little girl, even though I’ve pretty much been a suburban girl my whole life.

So, I guess I am most excited about the Homemade Living Series books, just to glean more information. I also LOVE shopping my farmers markets so being able to get more local produce and support small family farms, since I would someday like to have one, makes me, and them, very happy!

I’m glad I found you and I love your candor! Please include ALL whiny complaints because we learn from your trials. Once you get good at cheesemaking you could have a little cheese with that whine… LOL I couldn’t resist! Watch THAT bite me in the butt someday! Thanks for all you do and thanks for the giveaway! (Fingers crossed!)

    1. Thanks Pamela! Yes, this is such a learning process for me – and you will definitely here about it, ALL OF IT! 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
