I’m pretty sure I know what you’re thinking: What the heck does homesteading have to do with football?!
In this family, we love our homestead – and we love our Seahawks. So it just seemed natural. 😉
In light of the big day today, I tracked down a few Superbowl foodie round-up posts – because we want to eat tasty, real food on Superbowl Sunday, am I right?
The first round-up on my list came from Brown Thumb Mama – If you haven’t checked her blog out yet, do it now. I love her articles on green and thrify living! Her round-up includes some of my favorites, like jalepeno poppers and homemade ranch – YUM!
The most comprehensive list I found was from Real Food RN, a real food-eating RN – just like me! Her list is super easy to navigate, as she breaks it down by category. I am thinking I may have to try the Bacon Deviled Eggs – Holy Smokies!
Velveeta. NOT really what you would normally think of when you think REAL FOOD, right? But if we’re talking football and tailgating, it sounds pretty normal, wouldn’t you say? No need to hold back any longer – An Organic Wife has done the unthinkable – made a recipe for homemade velveeta, made with healthy, real food, ingredients!
Now, don’t tell my husband, but this week wasn’t ALL about football for me. Really! There were some amazing posts on the homesteading front as well!
Just in time for my seed catalog scouring, Erin from Blue Yurt Farms came up with their list of the 5 easiest and 5 hardest things to grow – Perfect timing! Oh, and I can’t forget to mention their newest post full of homesteading advice! Check it out!
One of the many things I have learned since we started our farmstead is how strong the emotional attachment is towards my animals and land. The Browning Homestead says it perfectly for me – I’m not even going to attempt to explain it any better…
Do you have a sweet tooth? For the most part, I don’t, but I sure do love sorbet! Cara over at The Randazzo’s posted a beautiful recipe for a berry sorbet that is full of probiotics from coconut milk kefir! Yum!!
This week was a busy one – Didn’t get to read NEAR as much as I normally do! What did YOU read??
